How do I get my free yearly credit report from the major credit agencies. I have heard that a law was passed and all agencies were to provide a persons credit report free once a year. I have encountered several websites claiming to be free but there are none that i have yet to come across. How do I find the major credit agencies and how do I get my free credit report.

The first response is correct. I’ll simply add a bit more information.
There are three major credit bureaus in the U.S.: Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. You are indeed entitled, once every 12 months, to a free copy of your credit report from each of the three.
This is the website that you are referring to:
You’ll know you’re at the correct website when you see a picture of a woman in a green turtleneck.
The website will include offers to sell you additional services, such as annual credit report subscriptions, but just click past those offers and you’ll be able to get your reports totally for free.

Here you can check your 3-in-1 Report from all three credit reporting agencies and your credit score rating.
Hope this help,
