check out annualcreditreport.com for a free copy. It will not give you a free score. Generally speaking they will ask simple questions like what company did you have an auto loan through, date of birth etc. Each bureau is a bit different in what they ask so one may ask to confirm an accout number.

I would not put your card number in. The free reports can be obtained by calling the Equifax or Transunion telephone number and going through an automated system to have a free report mailed to you.
